I do levels instead of models for all of my instruments. Since I use many different woods and materials, using levels rather than models means that each instrument will be unique.

Level 1 is a basic instrument using quality materials.
Level 2 uses nicer looking wood, and has more detail work.
Level 3 has more highly figured wood, and uses more individual appointments.
Level 4's are the top choice of everything.
